Tillakaratne Dilshan was named Sri Lanka captain in all three formats of the game for next month's tour of England, following Kumar Sangakkara's resignation after the World Cup. The selectors, however, did not name a vice-captain for the tour because 'the prospective candidates are nursing injuries, and their availability for the forthcoming tour is still in question'.
